A little preparation helps make your booking enquiry specific. Gather the vehicle details, explain the reason for the visit and discuss any timing constraints before arranging your drop-off.
Start with the make, model, year and kilometres. For scheduled maintenance, have the service book or other records available. For installations, include the accessory or headunit model.
If you are not sure about a specification, say so. The workshop can explain which further details are needed.
For a fault, write down when it happens and what you notice. Mention warning lights, recent repairs and previous diagnosis. If the concern is intermittent, explain the circumstances rather than simply saying the car “sometimes plays up”.
For maintenance, identify the service you believe is due. If you are choosing a deal, include the offer name and confirm vehicle eligibility.
Explain your preferred arrival time and when you need to collect the vehicle. These are separate arrangements. Diagnosis, parts availability and additional work can affect completion.
Ask what is included in the booking and how any extra work will be discussed. Make sure the workshop has a suitable contact number for questions during the visit.
Follow the actual booking confirmation and drop-off instructions. Bring relevant service records and remove personal items that could obstruct access to the areas being worked on. Ask first about any out-of-hours drop-off.
